Some people go through life knowing exactly what they want to do and how they are going to do it. Some of those people are even lucky enough to realize those lifelong goals. For others, life’s path does not become evident until it reveals itself. Ann and Alex, have always had a general idea of what they wanted to do: provide help and assistance to those in need. However, both took very different paths to get where they are now!
Ann grew up in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood as the daughter of Argentine Immigrants, both of whom are doctors and work directly with influencing students and social policy in the City of Chicago. Ann attended the Lycee Francais of Chicago, Loyola University for undergrad, and eventually the John Marshall Law School in Chicago. Due to her upbringing and education, Ann is fluent in both French and Spanish, and can easily translate and help her clients understand their legal rights and obligations. Ann worked for the Office of the Public Guardian as a Guardian Ad Litem for abused and neglected children. Helping those who are unable to help themselves has been a constant in Ann’s professional focus, and it is this passion that drives her in her own practice.
Alex also grew up on the Chicago Northside in the Rogers Park neighborhood. Alex learned the value of hard work from his father who is a general contractor, and the importance of entrepreneurship from his mother who opened an insurance agency in Rogers Park that specializes in nonprofits. Alex attended Von Steuben High School in Chicago, Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and attended law school with his partner, Ann, at The John Marshall Law School in Chicago. Throughout law school, Alex also dedicated his time to worthwhile organizations, working both for the John Marshall Fair Housing Legal Clinic, as well as the Environmental Law and Policy Center. Through these experiences, Alex learned the value of legal work, and how positive impacts can be made through social justice and awareness. Alex incorporates these ideals into his practice by zealously advocating for his clients and achieving the best results possible.
Ann and Alex understand the City of Chicago and its residents, including the need for unbundled legal services. Our firm is looking to adapt to the changes in our economy to better address how consumers can best afford legal services and protect their rights with diligent and effective legal representation. With this in mind, Leone & Kosyla Law offers unbundled legal services, or a limned-scope, pay-as-you-go, method that allows clients to pay for documents or court appearances as they become necessary. Unbundling is a method of offering legal services by breaking down the tasks associated with the client’s legal representation. We are looking to make our services affordable and accessible to as many people as possible, and we will always work with our clients to tailor our services to their specific needs.
Our scope of representation ranges from Family Law matters (divorce, custody, child support, etc.), Housing Law matters (evictions, landlord-tenant, real estate closing, housing law compliance, etc.), General Civil Litigation (breach of contract and other civil causes of action), Estate Planning (wills, power of attorney, etc.), Mediation, and Small Business services (corporate structuring, compliance, contracts, etc.). No matter the practice area or the client, we strive to do our best with every case and will give each client the personal attention their case needs and deserves!
